3 Ways To Channel Your Inner Beyoncé

Beyoncé's schedule has been perfected over her career. She's a mom, wife, entertainer, businesswoman, advocate, and she does it all flawlessly. She's educated, grounded, healthy, and she stands up for what she believes in. Want to wake up everyday and channel the badass that is Beyonce? You can. :)

  1. Wake up and practice gratitude. Beyoncé gets up at 6am to ground herself. I recommend the 432 HZ Youtube video to listen to and repeat the following: "I'm strong, I'm capable, I'm unique, I'm important, I'm beautiful" for four minutes. Studies have shown that through repeated affirmations, confidence levels rise. Remind yourself of all that you have accomplished, be thankful for the bed you woke up in, the people you get to see everyday, etc.

  1. 2. Eat well. It's important to eat healthy, not just for a six pack but really for your mental health. Those who eat a healthy breakfast in the morning have reported a more productive day and can focus more. A phrase that's always stuck with me is that your food should give you energy, not make you lethargic. We're all guilty of eating a giant dutch crunch sandwich and feeling like absolute shit for the rest of the day. Beyoncé would want you to eat vegetables. Eat vegetables.

3. Wear what you want, girl. I can't stress this enough. Obviously those of us in finance will dress differently than those of us working at an early-stage start-up, but that doesn't mean your body doesn't work in those pants or these pants. Wear what you like, what makes you feel confident, and what you're comfortable in.

Don't get up today and run 9 miles, drink only green juice, and put so much pressure on yourself. Swap the bacon for avocado. Take your coffee black. Wear the tank top you want to wear. Tell yourself you are worth it. Little tiny changes are key to making your life what you want it to be. Personally, I've started little tweaks that in the long-term will pay off.
